Dashboard on consumer prices

This dashboard shows the inflation rate according to the consumer price index (CPI) and the European harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP). It also shows how the various product and services groups are weighted when calculating the CPI. In addition, the price changes for a number of consumer goods and services are highlighted in more detail.

What is the current inflation rate?

What is the inflation rate in other European countries?

How are goods and services weighted in the CPI?

The graph below shows the weighting used when calculating the CPI. The weighting is meant to reflect the relative importance of the goods and services as measured by their share in the total average consumption of households in the Netherlands.

Which goods and services contribute the most to inflation?

The contribution is the share of the price change for a product group in the total year-on-year change in the CPI. The contributions of all the individual groups add up to the year-on-year change in the CPI.

What is the price change for each product group?

The CPI measures price changes over time across various product groups. A selection of these is shown below. The price change in all product groups in the CPI is shown in this table.
